Describe the Adults With Incapacity (Scotland) Act (2000)
A
this is a legal framework for making decisions on behalf of a person who does not have the CAPACITY to make decisions. It covers the persons welfare, property, financial affairs and medical treatment.

A
while they have capacity, they can grant someone they trust the power to manage their affairs should they loose capacity to do so themselves.

- OPEN questions
- ‘Chunk and check’
- Teach back?
- NOT asking ‘do you understand’, but instead, ‘can you repeat it back to me?’
