Describe Millers (1956) research into capacity.
A
. Used the digit span technique to research the capacity of STM.
. Participants were given a list of digits which got progressively longer , and asked to immediately recall the digits.
. On average participants could only recall 5-9 units
LTM - limited research as it is difficult to measure, however it is potentially unlimited.
