Any tow pieces of metal seperated by an insulating medium
What increases in proportion to Q?
The difference of potential between the two conductors
What is the capacitance of a pair of conductors?
The charge accumulated on conductors, when charged at a difference of potential equal to 1 V
What is a dielectric material?
An insulating material
How are capacitors added up in series?
1/C1+1/C2
How are capacitors added up in parallel?
C1+C2
What happens to the energy expended in charging the capacitor?
It is stored in the capacitor and may be retrieved at a later time.
What is the stored energy in a capacitor associated with?
The existence of the electric field within the capacitor
Whenever there is an electric field what is associated with it?
An energy
