Capacitors surpress undesirable frequencies
-Capacitors decouple one part of the circuit from another reducing the effect of noise

-high-pass: Passes signals with a ƒ higher than the cut-off and attenuates signals lower than the cut-off
-Low-pass: Passes signals with ƒ lower than cut-off and attenuates signals higher than cut-off
