A

“Words of a feather flock together.” Also known as associated words rule. This is when a class is created. Eg: cut and stab denote use of a weapon. Biting not included in class.

A

Known as the Limited class rule. Sublass of Noscitur a socis. Means of the same kind or nature. Applies where a liost of words is followed by a “catch all” like “whatsoever.” This means you might be able to include “pig” in a list that had sheep and cow

Expression Unius

A

The mention of one term is the exclusion of the other. Also known as the exclusion rule. Applies when a list isn’t followed with either “et cetera” or “includes” in the sentence. Means that when a list of specifics is used we dont extend the class to include what isnt mentioned.

A

When there are two sets the first word in set 1 corrosponds to word one in set 2 and vice versa. Eg: Red and green means stop and go.
