(Run off stage, shouting)
Bitter: (offstage) why are you out of bed?
(Follow mother tar onstage)
It is! We caught them red-handed only a minute ago.
We saw them! We saw them!
Reverie, don’t.
“Monster”, she called you “monster”!
Nuisance, candour come here please. Take these presents back to my chamber and use my teleporter to send them back where they came from.
Can we - can we please keep our presents?
Thank sweet reverie for that. Now get going!
(Take the sack of presents and wander off the room)
All right then. Let’s go save Christmas.
(Scene change to scene two)
What is it?
I don’t want to meet the beast! The teeth, the eyes…
Mother tar gave us a chore, so we’re going to do it. (Nuisance slows down, almost coming to a stop)
You’re also scared of it.
It’s a lot of teeth, okay?! Hmm. Maybe we could hide the presents somewhere else?
Wont she be mad at us if we do that?
Hmm. Yeah, probably.
Could we sneak around it?
I don’t think there’s another way to mother tar’s chamber.
(Candour whines)
I know, but we didn’t have a choice, I don’t wanna anger her and get grounded like reverie.
And if the beast wants to play?
Then we try not to scream. Toy know that upsets it.
(They disappear down the corridor. Far away, an elf rich horror is heard, followed by the terrified cries of the two children.)
