PSEUDOMEMBRANOUS CANDIDIASIS (THRUSH)
A
- MOST COMMON FORM (BUCCAL MUCOSA, PALATE, DORSAL TONGUE)
- ADHERENT DIFFUSE WHITE MUCOSAL PLAQUES ON THE CHEEKS, PALATE, TONGUE
- WIPED: LEAVING RED RAW ULCERATED/BLEEDING SURFACE
- ASSOCIATED SYMPTOMS: MINIMAL
- PATIENTS SYMPTOMS: TENDERNESS, BURNING, UNPLEASANT TASTE IN MOUTH, DYSPHAGIA
- PERSISTENCE ACUTE PSEUDOMEMBRANOUS CANDIDIASIS: RESULT LOSS OF PSEUDOMEMBRANE (GENERALIZED RED LESION - ACUTE ATOPHIC (ERYTHEMATOUS) CANDIDIASIS
