Cancer Biologics Flashcards
ATRA
- for PML helps to differentiate cells
Tox: leukocytosis (N), capillary leak syndrome (pulmonary edema, respiratory failure, renal failure)
Lenolidomide
unclear anti-inflammatory for MM
Imatinib
tyrosine kinase inhibitor, binds cleft of ABL for CML tx; also for cKit inhibition in GIST
Tox: edema, rash, pancytopenia, GI
Resistance: cleft can mutate to escape
Erlotinib
TKI in EGFR mutant NSCLC (women, non-smoker, with broncheoalveolar histology)
Tox: RASH, GI, Pulm
Crizotinib
- inhibits activin receptor-like kinase (ALK), ROS1 for NSCLC with EML4-ALK1 with kinase activity always, younger, non-smoker
Vemurafenib
RAF Inhibitor, targets V600E BRAF
Tox: Skin cancers (cutaneous squamous cell and keratocanthomas)
Bortezomib
Proteosome inhibitor for MM
Tox: neuropathy, myelosupression
Rituximab
anti B-cell CD20 for B cell NHLs
Tox: HA, flushing, chills, fever, GI
Cetuximab
MAB to EGFR, radiation sensitizer, K-RAS and BRAF WON’T RESPOND)
Bevsacizumab
VEGF inhibitor
Tox: pulmonary hemorrhage in pt with squamous cell ca.
Tox: HTN, pulm hemorrhage, proteinuria
Trastuzumab
blocks HER2 signalling, and cell mediated immunity
Tox: cardiac
