Neoadjuvant vs adjuvant therapy?
A
Neoadjuvant therapies are delivered before the main treatment, to help reduce the the size of a tumour.
Adjuvant therapies are delivered after the main treatment to helo destroy remaining cells.
e.g. radiation may be used to reduce the size of a breast cancer or rectal cancer prior to surgery. Chemotherapy may be used after surgery of CRC.
