how did industrialization change things for women?
industrialization changed the workplace for women by offering new opportunities outside of the home. Although they recieved new opportunities, they were still payed much less than men. During this time, many inequalities between men and women occured, such as unequal wages and saftey concerns
child labor
unskilled workers were the cheapest labor available to companies because oof their lack of training and the fact that they could pay them less.

the desire to maximize profits meant that health and safety were ignored.

a change away from making things manually to in factories.
industrial revolution did what to canada?
shifted canada from an agrarian economy to a manufacturing economy. this led to increased populations and efficiency, lower prices, more goods, migration from rural areas to urban areas
what happened to low income farmers?
farmers who couldnt afford machines struggled financially because they couldnt afford to compete with large farms who had technology. the farmers would then move to the countryside . this was a trend across canada.
