Group grows - more unique , more concerned with themselves
Group affiliations (pre modern)
- The individuals (most immediate group is their families
- Village: a bunch of families, marrying into the same group of families on the same village
- Multiple villages: within the nations and then a whole bunch of nations in a religious group
= the most different people are the individuals at the end - only thing in common is the religious affiliation
Modern society
All kinds of different groups that may not over lap at all
