How did The British Lung Foundation use petitions to affect policy making?
British Lung Foundation who launched a petition in 2011, gaining more than 50,000 signatures to implement a ban on smoking in cars, that gained support from over 700 health care professionals, MPs, other anti-smoking agencies and the public.
How did The British Lung Foundation raise awareness to change policy?
they raised awareness of the fact that over 430,000 children are exposed to second-hand smoke in the family car. This resulted in a change in the law that made smoking in cars with children under 18 illegal within 2015

How did Protection against stalking use appealing to government officials to affect law/policy?
They got support from Napo (probation officer’s union) as well as lawyers and the police. PAS were able to change people’s views, eventually making stalking a specific offence under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012.
