Emotional Appeal
Appealing to the emotions of your audience
Testimonials
Famous people or figures who appear trustworthy speak to the audience
Propaganda
Messages aimed at influencing opinions and/or the behavior of people when voting
Bandwagon
The appeal is that everyone else is doing it, so you should too
Scientific Approach
Test, statistics, survey and scientific jargon are used to convince the audience
Snob Appeal
Giving the impression that people of wealth and prestige are on board.
Card Stacking
Only presenting one side of the issue
Transfer
The politician groups thing that the audience likes and things they would accept
Name-Calling
The politician will blame problems on a particular group, person, or idea.
Associate a person with a negative symbol
Euphemisms
The politician may make an unpleasant reality more acceptable
Precinct
A district of a city or town used for administrative purposes
AARP
Works to defend and protect the rights of the elderly
NAACP
Works to defend the rights of minorities
PAC’s
Raise money for politicians
