CAM Flashcards
Definition of CAM
CAM is the use of so=ware and computer-controlled machinery to automate the
manufacturing process. It takes the designs created in CAD and converts them into instructions for machines to produce the final product.
What are the three parts of key features of CAM
Automation, precision, efficiency.
What is the full form of Automation
automates the production process, reducing the need for manual
interven4on.
What is the full form of Precision
Machines can produce parts with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
What is the full form of Efficiency
CAM systems can operate coninuously, leading to faster production 4mes
Three examples of CAM
CNC, Lazer cutter,
Benefits of CAM
- Reduces human error in the manufacturing process.
- Increases produc4on speed and consistency.
- Allows for the producion of complex shapes and designs that would be difficult or
impossible to create manually.
