Rule of 10s for burn management in Prehospital

Answer 1

For burns >20% total body surface area:
Estimate the total body surface area burned to the nearest 10%
For adults wt: 40 to 80 kg, give IV fluid:
10 mL × % TBSA burn per HOUR
For every 10 kg of wt > 80 kg:
ADD 100 mL of fluid per HOUR
(resuscitation for hemorrhagic shock takes precedence over resuscitation for burn shock)
