Calculating Moles Flashcards
1
Q
What is a mole? (1)
A
The number of particles (atoms or molecules) needed to turn thr relative atomic mass or formula mass into grams.
2
Q
How are moles, mass and molar mass linked? (1)
A
Moles = Mass divided by Molar Mass (atomic mass)
3
Q
What is Avagadro’s Law?
A
At room temperature and pressure, one mole of any gas has a volume of 24 litres, or 24 dm³
4
Q
How are moles, concentration and the volume of a solution linked?
A
Moles = Concentration (mol/dm³) x Volume of solution (dm³)
5
Q
How are moles, volume and Avagadro’s Law linked?
A
- Moles = Volume divided by 24dm³
