For Abandoned 911 Calls, which calls get dispatched?
All calls that are generated from a landline or business.
What is the procedure for Abandoned 911 Calls from a cell phone?
Cellphones get a call back, speak with the person confirming everything is ok, if so remind the person to lock their key pad. If no answer then leave a voicemail.
*These calls are entered as ACC
V5 vs. SUM
V5 shows all the call taker & dispatch remarks
SUM shows all call taker & dispatch remarks + Radio Traffic, Status Updates, MDT
What is the difference between the incident location and the response location?
The incident location is the location the offence/incident occurred.
The response location is where the COM is now. Where the Officer is meeting them.
How to write the tombstone
Possible impaired L/S NB Blanshard from Bay. Vehicle currently being followed by COM. Wht Chevy Blazer @123 ABC.
COM is security at A/A reporting a theft. SOC L/S NB Blanshard T/D 10 mins.
6 W’s, T/D, Injuries/PAS?
Name a type of assault where the person wasn’t hit?
Spitting, throwing boiling water on the victim.
What is the ‘mail’?
The CPIC/RMS results. Attach the ‘mail’ to the CAD file if it shows anything if significant interest. Always attach the 28 for vehicles
29 vs. CNI
29 is the active/before the courts/pending charges.
CNI is the history/synopsis of criminal history.
If you take a 9-1-1 call and you can’t figure out what the emergency is, what call type do you use?
9-1-1 (this is NOT in the pull down menu)
How do you start a call and the tombstone?
F1 starts the call.

When do we use the ‘Sudden Death’ call type?
When the call comes from PAS, Doctor, Coroner.
If the caller says “he’s blue and cold to touch…” we still need to use ‘Assist PFA’ if Police are going to attend
As a rule of thumb, when do you want to keep the caller on the line?
For any priority 1 (red) or 2 (yellow) calls.
What needs to be done for Check Welfare calls before they are sent to dispatch? (For callers who want us to check a residence or the caller is family from out of town)

It is judgment call if I check the hospitals or the family does.
We prefer to take this call from family rather than a friend
