Vice President
President of the Senate. Sole power to break a tie in the Senate. Receives and counts- validates- the electoral ballots during presidential elections.
State Department
Handles foreign affairs. Carries out the President’s foreign policies.
Treasury Department
Creates the formulas and recommends financial, economic, and tax policy for the U.S. and internationally.
Defense Department
Oversees the defense department– department in charge of coming up with ways to protect the United States. The Secretary is the sole policymaker and advisor to the Commander-in-Chief (President).
Department of Justice
Attorney General
Enforces federal laws by punishing through a court system. Ensures that there is fair and unbiased administration of justice.
Interior Department
Manages public lands and minerals, national parks, and wildlife refugees. Also manages Federal trust duties to Native American Indian tribes and Native Alaskans. In charge of conservation efforts like endangered species conservation.
Department of Agriculture
Coordinates agricultural research. Also oversees USDA agricultural programs throughout the country.
Department of Commerce
Duty of the secretary is to create economic growth. He or she is to stimulate commerce- business- domestically and abroad, as well as create jobs and improve the economic wellbeing of the country.
Department of Labor
Enforcing labor laws that deal with workplaces and unions. To improve work conditions. Ensure work-related rights/benefits.
Department of Health and Human Services
Primary goal is to reduce healthcare costs. Also, the secretary’s goal is to expand access to healthcare.
Department of Housing and Urban Development
Creates programs that help develop housing and community. Consults with the President on policies, programs, and activities that can better housing and communities.
Department of Transportation
Oversees the formulation of transportation policy. Also in charge of negotiating for and implementing international transportation. Enforces airline safety and effectiveness.
Department of Energy
Manages the U.S.’s nuclear weapons program and our energy policy. In charge of promoting scientific, mathematical, and technological advances that will further the safety and efficiency of the nation’s nuclear program.
Department of Education
Ensures federal funds are distributed as they should be to different schools. Ensuring schools comply with federal laws. Promotes the public’s understanding of education in the nation.
Department of Veterans Affairs
Ensure that veterans receive their due benefits. Provide healthcare, education, disability care, funerary, and financial benefits earned by the veterans of the United States of America.
Department of Homeland Security
Oversees responses to terrorism and comes up with ways to enhance security. Manages the borders of the nation while enforcing immigration laws. Controls the safety of the nation’s cyberspace.
Agency of Environmental Protection
Responsible for enforcing the U.S.’s Clean Air and Clean Water Acts, as well as other policies. Protects people and the environment from environmental hazards/risks.
National Intelligence Agency
Provide, in a timely and accurate manner, intelligence to the President. The role of the secretary is to oversee ways to quickly receive domestic and international intelligence to relay to the President.
Trade Representative
Advises the President on trade issues. Leads international trade negotiations. Oversees the resolution and enforces before the global trade policy organizations (World Trade Organization) does.
United Nations Ambassador
Role is to convey the U.S.’s current stance on major peace and security issues. The ambassador represents the U.S. as a whole.
Economic Advisors Council
Analyze the information regarding economic developments and trends. They also review other federal policies in order to make sure that they promote economic well-being.
Small Business Administration
Oversees the programs that help small businesses thrive in the nation. Helps small businesses receives loans, counseling, contracts, and other forms of assistance.
Office of Management and Budget
Helps the President in overseeing the budget. Oversees programs to ensure that they are consistent with the budget.
Office of Science and Technology Policy
Report and advise the president with accurate reports of scientific and technological developments. Ensure that the president’s policies are in tune with accurate science.
Central Intelligence Agency
Manages the intelligence collection. Collect information on domestic and foreign affairs and manage them for the safety and well-being of the nation.
Chief of Staff
Directs and manages all policies. Oversees the daily operations and activities for the president.
