Q

3 conditions for occurrence to be classified as FIRE:

A

1) There must be an actual fire or ignition. A mere heating or fermentation will not be sufficient to render the insurers liable for resulting loss. e.g.: A lit candle
2) There must be something on fire which ought not to have been on fire.e.g.: A candle fell over and drapes caught on fire.
3) There must be something in the nature of a casualty or accident. A fire occasioned by the wilful act of a third person without the consent of the insured, however, is considered accidental.
