Elicit (V)
To draw out or evoke a response, information, or reaction.
Example: “The teacher’s question elicited a thoughtful discussion among the students.”
Precarious (ADJ)
Unstable or uncertain, often involving risk.
Example: “The hiker found herself in a precarious situation when she got lost in the wilderness.”
Benevolent (ADJ)
Kind, generous, and characterized by a desire to do good.
Example: “The benevolent billionaire donated millions to charity.”
Inherent (ADJ)
Existing as a natural or essential part of something.
Example: “Risk is inherent in any investment.”
Mitigate (V)
To reduce the severity or impact of something, such as a problem or a risk.
Example: “Efforts to mitigate climate change are crucial for the planet’s future.”
Conundrum (N)
A confusing and difficult problem or question.
Example: “Solving the mystery became a conundrum for the detective.”
Alleviate (V)
To make a problem or suffering less severe.
Example: “Medication can alleviate the symptoms of the illness.”
