A sport involving dogs being used as bait for a bear to attack and kill.
Set in an arena style ring in a rural setting.
Was cruel and violent, and only organised for the safety of the spectators.
Occurred after work so that the working class were able to run the event, and the upper class could gamble/wager.
Lots of drinking, gambling and wagering occurred.

Chickens fought against each other with spikes in their feet.
Took place in a village/town hall, in a human made ring.
Largely was upper class viewers to gamble and spectate the event.
Occurred at any time of the day, as the upper class were not affected by the limitations of working hours which made the event more selective.

Barenuckle fighting, was also called fist fighting, cage fighting and modernly known as boxing.
It took place in the rural countryside/ workers fields, during the afternoons/daytime as it was reliant on natural light for viewership and the working class as fighters.
Having no rules and required very basic understanding, the sport was very unsophisticated.
The upper class acted as spectators and sponsors for the working class fighters, there was also less emphasis on race discrimination.
