2.) Describe the experiment carried out by Rutherford, Geiger and Marsden.

A

They fired positive alpha particles at an extremely thin piece if gold foil they expected them to go straight through but some were deflected by the positive nucleus as the charge wasn’t spread out.

Q

4.)Why isn’t the particle theory model perfect?

A

Because tiny spheres aren’t representative of actual atoms you can’t tell the size or the space between the particles and you don’t know how strong they are.

Q

6.) What is the mass n.o and what is the atomic n.o and where are they located?

A

The mass n.o is the total n.o of protons and neutrons it is the top number. The atomic n.o is the number of protons it is at the bottom.
