Q

What can filtration be used for?

A
  • It can be used if your product is an insoluble solid that needs to be separated from a liquid reaction mixture.
  • It can also be used in purification. For example - solid impurities in the reaction mixture can be separated out using filtration.

Q

How do you do filtration?

A
  • Get a beaker and place a filter tunnel on top of it.
  • Fold filter paper in a cone shape and place it in the tunnel.
  • Pour your mixture into the tunnel.
