Why were scribes important?
Scribes were important because letters wouldn’t have been written or read, royal monuments wouldn’t have been carved w cuneiform and stories would have been told but forgotten
Why did people want to settle in the Fertile Crescent?
People settled in the Fertile Crescent because it had fertile soil so they could plant their crops for living
Why were ziggurats made of terraces stacked up upon each other?
because Mesopotamians believed that the terraces were the stairs to their land for the gods
What was the main cause of ward between the Sumerian city states?
disputes over land and water
Sumerian city states shared the same language and culture, but how were they independent?
