Consists of a job description and job specification. Employer must be clear about the work so the appropriate job description and specification can be prepared.

Internals sources to advertise vacancies inside the business e.g word of mouth notice boards
External recruitment
External sources to advertise vacancies inside the business e.g head hunting networking

Cheaper to fill ll the post. provides opportunities for career paths inside the business

Interview - purpose
Determine a candidates to the ability for the job .evaluate the skill of applicant
Role of interviewer before interview
Book and prepare the interview. inform the interviewee about the date and place of the interview. allocate each interview the same time to do the interview.

Give each candidate the same amount of time to do the interview. make the interview we feel at ease.don’t mislead the interviewer

Give new employees a tour of the building. improve skills through in service training.
