What is the doctrine under which a corporation is made liable for the torts of its employees, committee within the scope of their employment?

Respondeat superior, or “let master answer” is the doctoring that is the basis for a principal’s liability for an agents torts (civil wrongs not arising from breach of contract, e.g. negligence) For this doctrine to apply, the wrongs must be committed within the scope of the agency.
