Why do I need the law if I am in business?
In almost every aspect of life, the law plays a critical role in determining how things operate.
List three reasons why understanding the law is essential for Business.

What sorts of people form a legal system?
Politicians, judges, lawyers, bureaucrats, citizens, parliaments, courts, the police force, government departments small businesses, and corporations.
What is law?
The law is a system of rules made by the state and enforceable by prosecution or litigation.
What is the source of a legal rule?
Legal rules are made by the government. In Australia, laws are made by either the legislature (parliament) or the judiciary (court).
What are the 6 purposes of law?

- Maintaining social order

What are the characteristics of a legal system that complies with rule of law?
- The law will be applied equally to everyone, regardless of his or her social status, culture, religion, or political belief.
- The courts will uphold the legal rights of the citizens, including the right to personal freedom.
- No person will be punished other than for conduct that is expressly made illegal.
