Referral

A
  • Extent- 2nd/3rd degree >10% TBSA 20% >10yo or >5% 3rd degree burn
  • Burn site- hands/feet, face, peritoneum, joints
  • Type- electrical, chemical, inhalation

Electrical cord bite

A

-refer surgeon cause potential labial artery bleeding 1-3 weeks after injury

Head trauma-High Risk

A
  • LOC > 1min, Depressed mental status, Focal neuro signs, seizures, irritability
  • Signs of depressed or basilar skull fracture (Raccoon eyes, Battle sign & Hemotympanum)
  • Acute skull fracture
  • Bulging fontanel
  • Vomiting >5 times or for > 6hrs

Consussion

A

1- sx less RTP 20 min, asymptomatic initial exam
2- sx >15, no LOC –> RTP 1 week, asymptomatic 1 week
3- LOC –> RTP 1 month, asymptomatic 1 week
