Q

Rule of Nine

A

The rule of nines is a quick method to estimate burn size visually; however, it may not be all-inclusive.

The body is divided into regions that represent 9% or multiples of 9% of the TBSA. Specific modifications apply to children because the surface areas of the head and trunk are proportionally larger than the extremities.
