It was founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, chancellor of Burgundy, as a hospital for the poor. The Hospices de Beaune or Hôtel-Dieu de Beaune is a former charitable almshouse in Beaune, France.

The 9.4 hectare (23 acre) site is located at the northern end of the belt of Beaune Premier Cru vineyards, near the commune boundary with Savigny-lès-Beaune. Indeed, across the A6 motorway, which runs along Les Marconnets northeastern edge, lies the Savigny Les Marconnets vineyards.
