In addition to a village/commune name (1st, in larger type), they can include the name of the vineyard (2nd, in smaller type) and the “premiere cru” wording. Some communes have also appended one of their grand cru vineyard names to the village/commune name. “Non-cru” climats can also use a vineyard name if the wine comes from that vineyard but cannot use the grand cru/premiere cru names.
