same generator used as milgrams goes up to 450v
sat in adjacent rooms
shocks start at 15v rather than 45v like milgrams original
teacher gets told that learner has haert problems , told taht it wont cause any pain to them
teachers asks 25 mpcs and learner gets shocked for every wrong answer
at 75v learner makes sound of pain and pre recorder prods from milgram play
at 150v learner cries and says his heart hurts
if pptps wants to continue burger shuts down the exp and gives debrief telling them the shocks are fake

a strength is its mote represetantive than milgrams, milgrms was all males, males could be perceived as being more psychologically robust and milgrams sample was androcentric
in burgers 2/3 were females , 41 pptps were females doible the number of males, 20-81
this creates a wider target population to be able to genralise to, makimgb the study more repsenative of all the types of people are likely to obey
however was volunteer sampling may not be succesfull in reachingb a wide range of people, ppl who look at the newsaper only

pptps hav to give shocks to a heart patients if they get an answwer weong, typically the punishment wud be a shout or help rather tahn a physical punishment.therefore the task is artifical as we wudnt shock ppl in real life.
however high interal valoidty, extraneous vraiables kept controlled ,

this is a strength as it means burger can be repliacted as it has no ethical critismcs
