- No other performances will be cancelled as a result of performing outside of the AOR.
- The band that IS in the AOR cannot do the job.
- The respective Operational Commander approves the out-of-area performance.
- Head, Navy Music Program (PERS-4014) approves the out-of-area performance.
Navy Music support is provided on a first come first served basis, but some entities requesting the band have priority over others. List the 6 priorities in pecking order.

Batons are retained in the right hand with left over right clasped hands centered approximately 2 inches below the belt buckle.

While performing in any Full Dress uniform.
A “full” ceremonial band has how many pieces or more?

When must a full ceremonial band be used instead of a minimum-sized one?
At every opportunity to do so.
A minimum sized Ceremonial band must have at LEAST how many members?

What is the recommended instrumentation for a minimum sized ceremonial band?
Conductor, 4 woodwinds, 3 trumpets, 2 trombones, 1 Euphonium or an additional trombone, 1 sousaphone or tuba, 1 bass drummer, 1 snare drummer, and 1 cymbal player.
What is the one change to the recommended instrumentation of a minimum sized ceremonial band that can allow for the addition of an extra woodwind or brass instrumentalist?
If the bass drummer can mount a cymbal to the bass drum, the cymbal player can be replaced with a brass or woodwind instrumentalist.
Are brass quintets allowed to render honors?
NO! Only minimum-instrumentation or larger ceremonial units will render honors.
