The Blue flame is hottest.

What is the first step in lighting a Bunsen burner?
A
Place the Bunsen Burner on a heat proof mat.

What a the second step?
A
Check that the gas tap is in the ‘off’ position.

What is the third step?
A
Connect the rubber hose to the gas tap.

What is the fourth step?
A
Close the air holes of the Bunsen burner collar.

What is the fifth step?
A
Light a match and hold it a few centimetres above the barrel.

What is the sixth step?
A
Turn on the gas tap and the yellow flame will appear.

What is the seventh step?
A
Adjust the flames by moving the collar untill the air hole is open and a blue flame appears.

Remember to close the collar to return the flame to yellow
