Directive
(Adj) involving management or guidance
The student needs directive help in geometry. She just doesnt understand it.
Solicit
(Verb) ask for, try to obtain
The charities solicit money, so they can help out a good cause in need.
Foray
(Adj) initial attempt
It was the girls first foray on stage, so she was nervous.
Cite
(Verb) to quote (a passage, book, article, etc.) a support or proof of an argument; to give credit to the source
In order to use someone elses quote, you must cite their name, and/or organization.
Direct quotation
(Noun phrase) is when you copy an author’s words verbatim (word for word) and use the exact wording in your writing.
If you were asked to give a specific and exact answer, you would ise direct quotation.
Puncuation
(Noun) the marks (such as periods and commas) in a piece of writing that make its meaning
To ask a question, you would use the punctuation of a question mark.
