asymptomatic in many cases syncope cardiac arrest - nocturnal ECG changes paroxysmal agonal breathing family history
ECG changes
ST elevation in right chest leads
coved morphology
RBBB/incomplete RBBB
AF can be associated cause
what can bring it on -ECG changes?
large meal fever drugs post MI beta blockers cocaine alpha agonists sodium channel blockers DC cardioversion ]hypothermia
diagnosis
positive ECG + 1 of diagnostic criteria
ECG
may not show signs all the time
place leads V1 and V2 more cranially
diagnostic criteria
proven VT/VF family history of sudden cardiac death <45 positive ECG criteria in family member electrical induction of VT syncope nocturnal agonal respiration
physical examination
will be normal, done to rule out other conditions
treatment
implantable cardioverter defibrillatory
medications
medications used
quindine
tedisamil
isoproterol
proven to be less effective
