A

-It took place in 1839
-The British Parliament sent Lord Durham to British North America for 4 months to investigate so the British Parliament can have a better understanding of the causes of the Upper and Lower Canada Rebellion

What was the Act of Union?

A
  • It took place in 1841
  • It unified both Upper and Lower Canda into one colony.
  • they were named Canada east and Canada west
  • Each section received an equal amount of seats in Parliament; Canada East and Canada West had to work together to get any bills passed in the legislative assembly
