Why did the slave trade develop
British military defeated the indigenous people

How did the slave trade work
Traders left Britain with goods like cloth and alchahol. They would sail to west Africa.
Then they would trade with African chiefs who had captured rival slaves.
Then they would go to the carrebian and trade slaves with sugar and Tabacco. Then the ship would return to England ready to repeat the process.
How was the treatment of the slaves
Awful
They were beaten and chained up. They had no food and below decks disease thrived.

They had to wear and eat English things

Farmers built machines and trains and canals. They stopped needing workers in farms. Workers went to live in the city and work in the factories. Then the factories grew.
