What/When is the Representation of the People Act?
1918 - A law that was passed that gave women the right over 28 to vote and all white men (including working class) able to vote over the age of 21.
Who is David Lloyd George?
He was the Liberal party leader and the PM during WW1.
He began to cause divisions in the Liberal party.
What is a ‘Grassroots Organisation’?
Give an example of one and explain.
It is something that begins with the popular participation of lots of people. I.e. The Trade Union.
This is a union of workers to give them strength against their bosses.
What is a National Government?
A government formed in the time of an emergency.
It involves members of competing and rival parties to set aside their differences for the greater good.
What is meant by the phrase ‘The Depression’ ?
Where the economy of the country is in a very bad situation.
Explain the ‘Gold Standard’ ?
A money system when the value of a country’s money is directly linked to gold.
