Q

What does the following sequence tell you? N: 1 NT -> S: 2Cl

[balance and points]

A

Stayman
a) N has 12-14 pts and a balanced hand.

b) S has EITHER 11+ pts with a 4C Major and is asking N for their 4C Major (if they have one).
OR 0-10 pts and is 5-4 in Majors (as he can then rebid the Major if he gets a “no 4CM” response of 2D).
