Attempt to short suit yourself by playing the hearts. When playing a two card, short suit, lead the higher of the two cards.

With no Trump, you typically lead your longest suit. Since you have an option here you pick your strongest suit which is spades. Since there are no touching high cards, you lead your lowest card.
What the rule of thumb if you are playing second (I.e following the card played by the opening lead)
Second hand low (follow suit with a low card).
What does an opening bid of two diamonds mean?
Not enough points for an opening hand, but six diamonds. “A weak two bid“
What does an opening bid of one clubs mean?
Opening points or satisfies rule of 20, but no five card major and no four card minor
What does an opening bid of two clubs mean?
Really strong hand. 22+ points. The 22 points can come from both high card points and distribution.
How do you respond if your partner “doubles” but you have a crappy hand with only 3 to 5 points?
Bid your longest suit (this is an exception, usually you would pass with only 3 to 5 points.)
How do you respond if your partner bids one spade and you have 6 to 10 points with Support for spades?
Bid two spades
How do you respond if your partner bids one Hart and you have 11 to 12 points with support for hearts?
Bid three hearts
What would be a game forcing response if your partners opening bid is one heart?
Two clubs or two diamonds.
If your partners opening bid was one diamond. Then only two club would be game forcing.
If your partners opening bid was one spade, then two clubs, two diamonds, or two hearts would be game forcing
How do you respond if your partner bids one heart or one spade, and you have 6 to 12 points but no support ?
One No Trump
How do you respond if your partner bids one diamond and you have 6 to 10 points but no support
One no Trump
How do you respond if your partner bids one diamond and you have 11 to 12 points but no support
Two no Trump
The opponent, your right is leading the first card, what is the general rule of thumb for second hand bidding?
Second hand low (play a low card, unless you have a compelling reason to do otherwise)
If you are leading against a no Trump contract, what is the best way to lead?
Lead your longest suit. If you have two equally long suits lead your stronger long suit.
If you have three or more high cards that are touching, lead the top high card. If you do not have touching cards, lead a low card.
What is the rule of thumb for playing the thirdhand trick?
Thirdhand high. If your partner is not already winning the trick, play your highest card of that suit.
T or F
It is generally a bad idea to lead an A if you do not have the K as well.
True
No trump lead if you have a “perfect sequence” aka three touching high cards
The top card (if KQJ, lead the K)
If No Trump lead with broken sequence (ie QJ9), what do you lead
High card (Q), same as with perfect sequence
What is your No Trump lead with and interior sequence (ie K J 10)
Lead the top of the touching honors ( J )
No Trump lead with 4 or more cards and at least 1 honor?
Ie: Q J 6 4 3
Lead the 4th best card: 4
No Trump lead with three cards containing at least 1 honor
Ie: Q 8 5
Lead the bottom card ( 5 )
No Trump lead from three cards with two touching honors
Ie: K Q 4
Lead the top honor ( K )
If leading a doubleton against No Trump… which card
I.e: J 8
Lead the top card ( J )
No Trump and you decide to lead from your three hearts 8 5 2…what’s the lead
Top of Nothing (8), signals you’re leading from weakness
No Trump and you decide to lead from your four hearts 9 8 5 2…what’s the lead
Lead 2nd best (8), still signaling a lead from weakness, but you just get lucky and win a late trick with the 9
Suit contract, you’re lead: A 10 8 6 3…what’s the best lead?
A
Do not underlead an A against a suit contract
What does the mneumonic BOSTON refer too?
What to lead if you have 3 or 4 in a suit:
Bottom of something (low card tells your partner there’s better to come)
Top of nothing (high card tells your partner to look elsewhere for tricks)
Partner leads a king…how do you respond?
Chance to signal!
High card means keep going with this suit
Low card means, I weak in that suit
