Began in the US in 1945. Herds developed by crossing red with red from black angus. Similar to black angus except for the color red.
Red Angus
Prureberd came from Scotland. They are solid black and they are smaller, smaller neck an ears than a Brangus.
Angus
Purebred came from France. The color is white and creamy, but he skin carries appreciable pigmentation.
Charolais
Crossbred. 3/8 Brahman, and 5/8 angus. Color- solid black an polled, the neck is thicker, and the ears are bigger than an angus.
Brangus
Crossbred. 3/8 Brahman, and 5/8 Hereford. Some have horns.
Braford
Crossbred. About 25% shorthorn, 25% Hereford, and 50% Brahman. Began in Texas in 1931. They are variety of colors, red and duns are most common. Some are horned and some are polled.
Beefmaster
Purebred. Came from India. They are light colored grey, white or almost black, and could be red. Darker around the shoulders, hip and thigh. Mature bulls are usually darker than cows.
Brahman
Developed in Texas in 1946. Bred with a purebred angus and Brahman. Red in color. Mostly polled.
Red Brangus
Purebred. Came from England. Red body with white face in color.
Hereford
Purebred. Originated in Iowa in 1901. Same traits as Herefords except for their horns. (No horns)
Polled Hereford
It’s an old breed. Originated in Switzerland. They have white to light straw faces with red to dark red, spotted bodies. They are horned breed with medium sized horns.
