Volume of air breathed in/out with one breath

A
Total volume of air that can be expired after maximum inspiration.
Vital capacity is a sum of inspiratory reserve and tidal volume and expiratory reserve
Difference in tidal volume due to larger lung capacity

Explain why the red blood cell count increases so much when people visit places at high altitude
A
Partial pressure of oxygen is low
So more Hb is required
Compensates for smaller volume of oxygen absorbed/ means more oxygen can be carried per unit of blood
