List 4 Oxygen delivery modalities
Nasal Prong
Simple Mask
Venturi Mask
Non-Rebreather Mask
Non-Invasive Ventilation (CPAP, BiPAP)
Nasal Prongs: List the indication, flow rate / Fi02
Low levels of Oxygen to non-critically ill, spontaneously breathing patients
Flow rates up to 1-5 L
Fi02 up to 25-40% depending on Vt
Simple Mask: List the indication, flow rate / Fi02
Flow Rates:
Fi02:
Venturi Mask: List the indication, flow rate / Fi02
High flow system
Indicated in patients that require tighter control of Fi02 (COPD, C02 retention)
24-50% Fi02
Non-Rebreather: Flow Rate, Fi02
Flow Rate: 6 - 10 lpm
make sure reservoir does not collapse
Fi02: 80 - 90% Fi02 depending on breathing
