Breathe in - intercostal muscles
Contract
Pull ribcage up and out so chest increases in volume
Breathe in - diagphram muscles
Contracts diaphragm lowers and increases volume in chest even more
Volume of chest gets
Larger and air is sucked down windpipe and into lungs (inhale)
Breathing in
Inspiration
Breathing out
Expiration
Breathe out - intercoastal muscles
Relax
Lowers ribcage and chest decreases in volume
Breathe out-diagphram muscles
Relax
Diaphragm moves up which decreases volume in chest even more
As volume in chest gets
Smaller the air is forced out of lungs(exhale)
