Breathing and Respiration Flashcards
What gases go in and out blood vessels
In= Oxygen Out= Carbon Dioxide
Order in size from biggest to smallest
Lung>Trachea>Bronchi>Bronchioles<Alveoli
What happens when u inhale
Intercostal muscles contract, volume increase, pressure decrease and air rush in
What happens when u exhale
Diaphragm and intercostal muscles relax, lung volume decreases, pressure in lungs increase and air rushes out
What three parts make up the circulatory system
Heart, blood vessel, blood
Word equation for aerobic respiration
Glucose + Oxygen -> carbon dioxide + water + (energy)
Word equation for anaerobic respiration
Glucose -> Lactic Acid
What is vasoconstriction
When ur blood vessels contract to keep heat in blood for when it’s cold
What is vasodilation
When ur blood vessels expand to get heat out of ur skin when it’s hot
