What are the steps of breast exam?
A
1) Consent + chaperone
2) Ask pt to undress and cover with gown
3) Inspect in three positions
4) Lie pt supine with arm behind head. Palpate systematically, including axillary tail
5) Examine lymph nodes in axilla and neck

What is the criteria for breast cancer screening in UK?
A
50-70y. Invited every 3 years.

A
1 in 25 recalled, of which 1 in 4 have breast ca. (Overall 1 in 100)

What is the NICE 2ww criteria?
A
- Aged >30 and unexplained lump in breast or axilla
- Aged >50 with nipple or skin changes
(< 30 with breast lump, consider non-urgent referral)
