Q

What is mammary duct ectasia also known as?

A

‘Spilt milk’ mastitis/plasma cell mastitis

17
Q

In which patient population is ovarian oblation considered (in breast cancer) and how is this achieved

A

In pre-menopausal women who are positive for oestrogen receptors, achieved by surgical oophorectomy, ovarian irradiation by using LHRH analogues e.g. goserelin

18
Q

How can metastatic breast disease treated? (4)

A

Endocrine therapy: Tamoxifen, oophorectomy, progestogesns, non-steroidal aromatase inhibitors

Chemo

Radio

Limited role of surgery (Except oophorectomy as above)

19
Q

What are phyllodes tumours also known as?

A

serocystic disease of brodie

20
Q

What are phyllodes tumours?

A

Fibroepithelial tumours that clinically resemble fibroadenoma, all are are considered to have malignant potential (so rx: wide local excision with clear margins or , total mastectomy if aggressive)
