What are some Physical features of Brazil?
Animals and Diverse Land - forests, seas, deserts, mountains. hills, towns and cities.
How many Layers are there in the Rainforest?
There are Five Layers in the Rainforest.
What is the First layer of the Rainforest?
The ground layer - Dark, Steamy and only 2% of light comes through. Lots of dead plants.
What is the second layer of the rainforest?
The shrub Layer - 0-10 metres, smaller plants and clearings animals are found in the shrub layer.
What is the third layer of the rainforest?
The Under Canopy - 10-20 metres. Monkeys and sloths are found here, Small young trees fighting for light
What is the fourth layer of the rainforests?
The Main Canopy - 20-30 metres. Like umbrellas. The trees are tall and straight.
What is the fifth layer/tallest part of the rainforest?
The Emergents - 30-40 metres. Not many trees reach this stage, but those which do are rich in sunlight and usually quite healthy.
What sort of climate is the Rainforest?
The Climate is Humid - Hot and wet all year, no winter or summer.
Is the Soil in the rainforest Fertile?
No, the soil is infertile on the ground layer.
