Composition for orchestra with a soloist or group of soloists
Concerto grosso
Written for a small group of solo instruments known as the concertino + The ripieno (a large orchestral group)

Flute, violin, harpsichord
What is the ripieno made up of
Strings - Violin, viola, cello, bass

Texture features in harpsichord:
Harpsichord plays in two-part counterpoint, but when both hands are playing is becomes 4 part counterpoint
Texture involving flute and violin:
Flute and violin play in unison
Structure:
Ternary - Section A in D major
Section B modulates to relative minor of B minor
Section A comes back with D major
Melodic features:
Conjunct, rising sequences, Ornamented (trills), appogiaturas
What is a suspension?
Prolonging a note to create dissonance with the next chord
